a freshly planted pollinator pocket in East London. This garden is entirely constructed from galvanised steel agricultural water troughs, repurposed as tough planting containers to support a beautiful & hyper-productive pollinator friendly zone in the heart of the city.

Urban areas surrounded by hard surfaces included reflected light, require plants tolerant of a range of light conditions. Flexible planters with small trees, and multi- stem shrubs, underplanted with ornamental grasses and hardy flowering perennials.  Selected to survive in the tough conditions of an urban heat island these are plants which will thrive together as a community and contribute to the bio-diversity of the local area.

Hopefully some of the Erigeron Karvinskianis (Mexican daisies) we planted this year will be found in pavement cracks round the corner next year.
